The Future of Our Community and Your Right to Vote

A Message to Our Neighbors — Treehouse in the Woods

Dear Neighbors,

I am writing to share important information about the future of our community and to encourage homeowners to stay informed and involved in the decisions that affect all of us.

Over the past several months, the possibility of a deconversion has been discussed. A deconversion would mean selling the entire condominium property to an investor and dissolving the condominium association. This is one of the most significant decisions a community can face because it permanently changes the ownership structure of our homes.

While some people see potential benefits, it is important to understand the potential risks and consequences:

  • Owners may be required to sell their units even if they wish to remain in their homes.
  • The price offered by investors may not reflect the long-term value of the property.
  • Residents who want to stay could end up becoming renters under new ownership.
  • Once approved, a deconversion is extremely difficult to reverse.

Because of the magnitude of this decision, it is critical that the Board of Directors truly represents the homeowners and that major decisions are made with full transparency and participation from the community.

At the moment, several Board members’ terms have expired and an election has not yet taken place. The most constructive and democratic way for homeowners to ensure their voices are heard is to hold a proper election and allow the community to choose its leadership.

An election would give homeowners the opportunity to:

  • Ensure that all options for the future of the Association are carefully evaluated
  • Select Board members who represent the interests of the community
  • Maintain transparency and accountability in major decisions affecting our homes and investments

Regardless of individual opinions about deconversion, one principle should unite all homeowners: the community deserves the opportunity to elect its Board and participate in decisions that affect our property and our future.

In the coming days, you may receive additional information about the steps required for homeowners to organize a meeting where a proper election can be held. Your participation will be essential to ensure that the direction of our community reflects the will of its members.

Take the time to stay informed and engaged.
